Under the supervision of the Plant Manager, the Warehouse Manager will supervise day-to-day operations in the warehouse. S/he will plan, organize, supervise and participate in the operations and activities of the Warehouse. S/he will be responsible to assign workloads to warehouse workers. S/he will participate in strategic planning and budgeting.
• Plan, organize, supervise and participate in the operations and activities of the Warehouse;
• Supervise loading and unloading operations;
• Prepare shipping documentation and other related paperwork.
• Promote, comply, actively participate and enforce the importance of safety to help maintain a safe and healthy work environment; Report all safety issues;
• Provide leadership to others through example and knowledge sharing;
• Involved in team members training to understand procedures for food safety, and personnel safety;
• Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
• Motivate and encourage employees to meet their individual goals;
• Provide the warehouse team members feedback through job performance appraisals;
• Assign workloads to warehouse workers;
• Manage staff hours and submit to payroll.
• Observe health and safety regulations; maintain warehouse in a clean, safe and orderly condition;
• Assist management in establishing warehouse standards and procedures;
• Utilize space efficiently and effectively;
• Monitor automated warehousing system; operate a computer to enter data, correct errors and control key screens as required;
• Check and verify materials in warehouse periodically.
• Operate and demonstrate use of specialized warehouse equipment as necessary; assure proper and routine maintenance and servicing of warehouse vehicles and equipment;
• Communicate effectively both orally and in writing;
• Support and help implement continuous process improvements;
• Create and keep up to date POKA guide relatively to all warehouse operations;
• Manage operation in many different locations;
• Stay informed about logistics industry and trucking industry.
• Monitor KPI’s closely;
• Prepare annual budget;
• Suggest/implement possible improvement on a regular basis;
• Manage operation(s) performed by a third party;
• Monitor the trucking industry market on a weekly basis;
• Manage and negotiate with trucking companies;
• Perform other duties as assigned.
