Position Summary

Reporting directly to the Plant Engineer, the Technical Improvement Coordinator's primary responsibility is to develop ways to increase productivity, maximize efficiency, and manage human capital more effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate activities to resolve production problems, maximize product quality and minimize cost;
  • Review layout of equipment materials and workspace to maximize production efficiency;
  • Analyze statistical data and product specifications to determine standards and establish quality and throughput objectives;
  • Recommend methods for improving utilization of personnel, material and utilities;
  • Complete production reports, purchase orders, and material, tool and equipment lists;
  • Analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems;
  • Observe, receive and otherwise obtain information from all relevant sources;
  • Identify the underlying principles, reasons, or facts of information by breaking down information or data into separate parts;
  • Develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize and accomplish required work;
  • Encourage and build mutual trust, respect and cooperation/collaboration among team members;
  • Enable members of a group to work together to accomplish tasks;
  • Inspect equipment and/or materials to identify the cause of production problems;
  • Provide guidance and expert advice to management or other groups on technical, or process-related topics;
  • Provide direction to contract labor;
  • Perform other job-related duties as requested.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in related field of study;
Experience in a food manufacturing a plus;
Ability to determine specific tools/equipment necessary for job tasks;
Thorough understanding of the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making;
Ability to teach others;
Thorough knowledge of multiple root-cause / problem-solving techniques and understanding which tool to use for specific issue;
The ability to effectively communicate information and ideas verbally and in written format to different audiences;
