Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Health & Safety Facilitator primary responsibility is to provide plant support in the adherence of health and safety related policies, procedures, and best practices for Leclerc Brockville Plant. Responsibilities:
- Support leadership team:
- establishing and maintaining a strong safety culture,
- as a technical resource on Health & Safety related questions,
- in event investigations and follow-up on corrective actions,
- implementing and improving programs and procedures.
- Assist/participate in plant Health & Safety committee and their activities,
- Review/analyze health and safety incident trends and suggests improvements,
- Actively communicates on Health & Safety topics, through participation in meetings, interactions on the floor, updating displays, POKA posts,
- Carries out and/or coach risk assessments and Job Safety Analysis,
- Health and safety review of work instructions/ troubleshooting guides for approval (validate compliance with policy, procedures, regulations),
- Conduct audits and inspections (contractors, hot work, lockout…).
Requirements:
- Minimum of Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, preferred
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the field of Occupational Health and Safety
- Self-directed and self-motivated, demonstrating a high level of professionalism, ethics, confidence and a commitment to a team approach
- Experience working with multidisciplinary teams (both internally and externally)
- Always conducts oneself in a professional manner, leads by example
- Demonstrated ability to learn and understand working knowledge of regulatory requirements
- A highly effective health and safety leader with a record of demonstrated accomplishment implementing a health and safety program
- Experience leading and following safety and security policies/procedures
- Exceptional people skills, effectively can communicate with all levels of an organization
- Demonstrated ability to maintain employee confidentiality specifically as it relates to incident investigation involvement
- Familiar with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
