Position Summary

Reporting to the Corporate Maintenance Director, the Maintenance Reliability Engineer is responsible for the company’s standardized preventive maintenance program and the management of reliability projects across our plants in Canada and the United States. Collaborating with other technical experts, the Reliability Engineer will develop, implement, and execute programs aimed at reducing downtime, increasing machine availability, enhancing current maintenance and production practices, and fostering a culture of reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of reliability standards and organizational processes in collaboration with maintenance experts to enhance risk management, improve preventive maintenance programs, and optimize spare parts selection.
  • Train and support maintenance departments in conducting risk assessments to rank the criticality of equipment.
  • Lead or support the implementation of reliability projects to optimize performance and reliability of equipment across the plants, by collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project implementation.
  • Support plants in reviewing and optimizing their maintenance plans and critical spare parts based on Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), root cause analyses, field feedback, and health, safety, and food quality requirements.
  • Perform and support equipment failure investigations to ensure that the root cause have been identified, corrective actions prescribed and assist plants in implementing recommendations.
  • Makes specific recommendations to the plants to improve machinery performance and reliability based on condition assessment and equipment performance data.
  • Identify, benchmark, and support Maintenance Departments in selecting and implementing relevant predictive maintenance technologies.
  • Monitor analyse performance indicators for maintenance programs.
  • Support and identify training opportunities and activities to enhance the expertise and skills of the Maintenance Teams.
  • Supports the safety program(s) as CADLOCK implementation project and departmental safety requests.
  • Follow up and engage in POKA publications and calls for assistance.

Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field such as mechanical or electrical engineering, or a college diploma in maintenance analysis, industrial maintenance, or another relevant area.
    • Minimum of 5 years of relevant reliability engineer experience within the manufacturing industry.
    • Experience leading Root Cause Failure Analyses, Criticality Assessments, FMEA's.
    • Strong experienced with CMMS tool, SAP software knowledge is preferred but not required.
    • Technical knowledge of production equipment, electrical systems, PLCs, hydraulics and pneumatics.
    • Experience in a food manufacturing environment a plus.
    • Recognized for your leadership, teamwork, analytical skills, attention to detail, change management abilities, and ease of communication and problem-solving in a team, combined with a results-oriented approach.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • Proficient in both French and English, spoken and written.
