Position Summary

The Business Development Assistant will report to the Team leader - Business Development Assistants. She/he will work in tandem with the Sales Account Managers and their assigned accounts to assist in the development and implementation of the sales programs that will maximize profit and volume opportunities. The Business Development Assistant will assist their Account Managers in the preparation, follow-up and account maintenance needed to achieve strategies and objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Account Management: Build and maintain relationships, handle deductions/claims, resolve payment discrepancies, and lead accounts in Account Managers’ absence.
  • Inventory and Logistics: Review packaging inventory, track stock movement, work with logistics on freight rates, and schedule shipping appointments.
  • Financial and Reporting: Assist with financial reports, ensure terms and payments, manage and update sales forecasts, and review account activity reports.
  • Project Coordination: Oversee new project processes, coordinate project launches, and assist with pricing, budgets, and schedules.
  • Administrative Tasks: Prepare and submit forms, maintain account websites and files, and process and update customer orders

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or associate degree in business administration or related field of study desired but not a requirement
  • Demonstrated knowledge working with Microsoft Excel, Power Point & Word
  • Experience desired in forecasting / planning, project management, relationship-building with multiple functions at the client level
  • Strong strategic thinking and process development skills.
  • Ability to:

Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

Work within multidisciplinary teams

Use personal effectiveness to link relationships, processes, and business methodologies with revenue-producing activities.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills, excellent judgment, strong sense of ethics & integrity, result oriented.
  • Thrive in an entrepreneurial environnement.
  • Some travel required.
