SUMMARY 

The position holder will support the quality assurance team by conducting technical and regulatory reviews of packaging for the national brand as well as private labels, in collaboration with the existing team. This position involves performing complex packaging reviews, requiring in-depth regulatory expertise and great attention to detail. This role demands sustained concentration and the ability to manage long and demanding tasks. The position holder will also be responsible for regulatory research related to this sector and may perform other tasks related to quality assurance. This person will be supervised by the Team Coordinator – Clients/Certification/Packaging and will report to the Quality Assurance Director. He will need to work in collaboration with other departments such as R&D, marketing, sales, MDM, and quality control.

Work Schedule: 40 hours/week. On-site presence required according to the current policy.

RESPONSABILITIES :

  • Conduct the initial review of national brand and private label packaging to ensure compliance with current regulations.
  • Support the quality assurance team as a regulatory advisor for the packaging sector.
  • Work with the Lean-packaging approach and participate in its improvement.
  • Assist in evaluating activities related to the labeling of finished products.
  • Read and interpret regulations related to packaging requirements for finished products.
  • Monitor regulatory developments that may affect the packaging of finished products.
  • Maintain up-to-date technical data in the computer system (SAP).
  • Resolve various issues related to printed or developing packaging.
  • Perform other related tasks within their field of activity.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders from different departments.

REQUIREMENTS :

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science and a minimum of 2 years of experience in packaging review or College Diploma in dietetic or food related subject accompanied by 5 years of experience in packaging review.
  • Very good knowledge of computer tools including the Office suite.
  • Good knowledge of SAP/Lean Packaging, PLM is an asset.
  • Good knowledge of French and English (written and spoken).
  • Good knowledge of food regulations and related laws concerning packaging (Canada, US, UK, and other markets if possible).
  • Experience in packaging review (legal and technical information).
  • Knowledge of nutritional claims and other food-related claims.
  • Excellent judgment, strong sense of ethics and integrity, results-oriented.
  • Ability to multitask while meeting deadlines.
  • Recognized for autonomy and organizational skills.
  • Teamwork skills and willingness to help.
  • Detail-oriented person.
  • Good learning ability.
  • Ability to manage priorities and stress well (very frequent deadline management).
