Position Summary
Reporting to the facilities manager, the facilities maintenance technician is responsible for the physical maintenance of the building, facilities, and grounds.
Responsibilities
- Large portion of responsibilities are outdoors and physical.
- Maintaining grounds, lawns, gardens, parking lots and concrete areas.
- Snow removal support (usually 50% of time in the winter months)
- Perform various tasks to building facilities (replace light bulbs, minor repairs to doors and windows, locksmithing, minor plumbing and electrical work as needed)
- Respond to daily service calls according to priorities as assigned by facilities lead
- Perform preventative maintenance and corrective maintenance.
- Maintain a safe work environment.
- Small improvements and equipment installation.
- Maintain a clean work environment.
- Manage subcontractors and direct work.
- Other duties as required.
Requirements
- High school diploma.
- Responsible and professional work ethic.
- Proven mechanical skills.
- Demonstrate autonomy and initiative, self-directed at times lone worker.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
- Willing to flex shifts when required and available for call-ins when required.
- Safe worker and adhere to all health, safety, and environmental policies.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize.
- Decision making and problems solving.
- Comfortable working at heights.
- Pay rate of $30.43/hour to $37.28/hour and will be determined based on your experience, skills, training and organizational needs.
Qualifications (Assets):
- Experience in facilities maintenance, manufacturing, and food manufacturing.
- Certifications in the following: fork truck, working at height, PEWP / MEWP, rigging and hoisting, confined space, G driver’s license.
