Position Summary

Reporting to the Maintenance Team Lead and Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Technician conducts, maintains, tests and repairs electrical/electronic, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems and components. Applies knowledge of electrical/electronic and mechanical principles in determining equipment malfunctions and applies skills in restoring equipment to operation. Provides skilled mechanical and electrical/electronic support to all areas of Manufacturing

We currently have a full-time second shift position available.

Responsibilities

  • Follow required safety practices (e.g. lock-out tag-out, PPE, confined space, chemical, fall protection)
  • Work in line with safety and GMP guidelines
  • Troubleshoot, maintain/repair high-speed manufacturing and packaging equipment;
  • Troubleshoot, maintain&repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems (e.g. controls, numeral controls, power supplies, drives, gages and test equipment)
  • Adjust equipment for performance and safety

  • Advise operators and line mechanics on safe use of equipment

  • Document and track corrective and preventive maintenance performed, to reduce downtime
  • Perform preventive maintenance 
  • Install machines, wiring and programs 
  • Solve complex technical issues
  • Start up/shut down equipment per safety and OSHA rules
  • Keep work aera clean
  • Support&implement process improvements;
  • Create&maintain POKA guides 
  • Perform other assigned duties

Requirements

  • Technical Associate Degree or accredited apprenticeship program or the equivalent in a technical field;
  • Three (3) year applicable experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • Equipment knowledge, Computer experience/operation and PLC troubleshooting are necessary (Allen-Bradley preferably);
  • Knowledge of electrical/ electronic components and equipment including the use of special instruments for diagnostic purposes;
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and effective communication with peers, supervisors;
  • Must be flexible with work hours and be able to work overtime and weekends when needed.
